Sombra is a striking mare, registered with both the American Sugarbush Harlequin Draft registry and the prestigious Stonewall Stud Book. Born in 2016 to the lovely Perle Argentée and the impressive stallion Rorschach's Hextatic, Sombra captured Mara's heart from the very beginning. Sombra was bred by Terri Lynn Nutter of Rockin’ the Dots in McAlpin FL. Mara purchased her as a baby, eagerly awaiting the day she could finally bring the sweet filly home. In December of that year, Sombra arrived at a boarding facility in Fort Pierce Florida as a gentle and curious weanling, quickly forming a deep bond built on trust and mutual affection.

Blessed with a coat as black as coal and a temperament as gentle and steady as the West Virginia hills, Sombra embodies the best qualities of her breed—calm, intelligent, and affectionate. Her level-headed nature makes her a joy to work with, whether in training or simply spending quiet moments together. In addition to her sweet disposition, Sombra has mothered two colts, one of which, Echo, also resides at Silvermoon. Over the years, Sombra has grown into a mare whose quiet confidence and loving nature have endeared her not only to Mara but to all who meet her. She continues to be a beloved companion and a shining example of the Sugarbush Harlequin Draft’s exceptional beauty and character.
